Tech Recruitment Slows
Global executive recruitment was flat in the second quarter, but the Tech industry saw a drop in searches of more than 13% compared to the prior quarter. That’s according to the latest quarterly survey from the Association of Executive Search Consultants (”AESC”).
Technology was one of two industries to see a drop in the number of searches initiated, the other being Consumer, which saw a reduction of 6.6% over the prior quarter. All other industries covered by the survey saw an increase, led by Nonprofit (6.8%), Industrial (3.6%), Life Sciences (2.6%), Financial (2.5%) and Professional Services (1.4%).
On a regional basis, Europe and North America each saw slight declines in the number of new searches in the second quarter. The Asia/Pacific region (8.1%) and Central/South America (5.1%) saw the greatest increase over the prior quarter.
The AESC survey, which covers 1,200 executive search consultants in 42 countries, is considered a leading indicator of the future job market.
