Twitter Users as Expert Sources on IBM-Sun Deal
The “Twitter factor” continues to gather momentum in coverage of financial markets. Latest case in point: Information Week’s coverage of IBM’s (NYSE: IBM) potential purchase of Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ: JAVA), headlined “IBM to acquire Sun? Twitter users not convinced”
After quoting a more traditional source – Forrester Research’s John Rymer – the article cites three anonymous (in the article) Twitter users. It wraps up with the following sentence:
So although IBM would most certainly gain a valuable software from the acquisition of Sun, Twitter users and analysts are unclear how well Sun would fit within Big Blue.
